What is BIS™?

The Biometric Identification System(BIS)™ is a modular and easy to use system that securely enrolls and identifies people using biometrics. The BIS™ is a scalable and customizable system that provides the customer with the ability to choose the biometric technology (e.g. Fingerprint, Face, Iris, signature, vain, among others), to have a multi biometric system (i.e. to Identify users using a combination of different biometric methods – per the project requirements), over versatile infrastructure (land and mobile units etc.).

Why do I need it?

BIS™ makes it easy to enroll and identify enrolled users using biometrics to verify their identity. It provides a higher level of security in ensuring people are who they really say they are and therefore entitled to whatever information, product or service that is rightfully theirs..

How does it work?

BIS™ provides a set of functions that allow easy enrollment and identification of a person::

o Enroll fingerprints via a variety of fingerprint scanners from different manufacturers.

o Take a high quality picture that can be also used to identify a user.

o Maintain a strict log of data that has been entered in the system including enrolled users, and users that have been already identified.

o Keep detailed information of administrators perfoming verification of users and controlling access to system data via a multi-tiered access scheme.

o Provide detailed reports and activity logs of users and administration staff.

o Securely store the data until it can be transferred off the system to a central server.

o Flexible deployment on either desktops or mobile systems for remote deployments.

BIS™ is used by corporations, governments, and other entities which need a robust, secure system to enroll and identify users. BIS™ is a customizable system which can be adapted for any organization's needs.

FEATURES

Enrollment

The Enrollment screen is where all data on the user is entered in the system. The operator will capture all the information in a customizable form and then enroll the user's fingerprints and take several photos. Enrollment generally includes personal information, Identification Characteristics, user's pictures, Address, and biometrics (by default it will use fingerprints, but the biometric method can be customized according to the customer's request). Enrollment can be configured in a way that it will not let the operator to save the information until a set of activities are established, such as high resolution fingerprints, minimum number of fingerprints were captured, specific mandatory fields, high resolution Pictures were taken, immediate duplication search within the local database, and near real time duplication search for the entire database, etc. Access control - operators level

Verification

After enrolling the user, BIS™ makes it easy to confirm their identity. When the user presents their fingerprints, BIS™ will use its powerful search algorithms to look through all the fingerprints, to identify the user and present all their previously registered information on the screen. This system will positively identify the user and keep fraud to a minimum. The verification page provides two important functions:

i. Verification search (1:1) using identity information such as name, family name, region, city, DOB, user ID, etc.

ii. Identification search (1:N, 2:N, 4:N or 10:N) - the system provides the ability to search for a specific identity out of the entire local / central database. Searched can be done also with a combination of biometric trait (e.g. fingerprint) and Identity details (e.g. name / region etc.). Access control - Operator level

Reports

BIS™ provides a comprehensive reports generation mechanism. The operator can generate a report for all Registered users, Verified users, and Duplicate users (fraud attempts) by many other parameters including Fingerprint quality, Address parameters, etc'. Access control - High level operators / team leaders

Administration

BIS™ keeps track of all user enrollments, verification and operator activity that happens on the system. There is also the option to export these reports for auditing and record keeping requirements. Access control - Administrators

Configuration

The configurators have the ability to add / change locale information; adjust security parameters of the biometric engines; as well as maintain strict control to information deciding who can access what portion of the system as well as to change configuration items in BIS™. Granular control is provided in the Configuration screen so that only select people can modify or delete information. It also is easy to create and maintain the credentials of all operators in the system in the configuration screen. Access control - configurators (High level administrators).
